About the blog…

The Family History Blog has been created to share information about all things related to family history and genealogy.

I hope to include general information about researching your own family history – resources, events, tips and articles. As well, I will be sharing aspects of my own search – stories, photos and documents related to my ancestors and their lives.

This blog is intended for all those who like to consider themselves amateur family historians.

    Hi Rachel
I am descended from William Mobbs. In 1987 there was a Mobbs Muster organised in Sydney where we all registered. Have you seen the resulting book by Beryl Mobbs Lewis 1988?

    • Hi Christine,

Yes I actually have seen the book Mobbs Muster by Beryl Mobbs Lewis – what a fantastic resource it has been! I was able to request a copy through an inter-library loan at my local library several years ago while I was living on the Mornington Peninsula. I spent quite a few hours sitting in the library working my way through it.

Have you been able to look through a copy? I know it’s a little tricky to get as not many libraries hold a copy – easier to access in NSW than anywhere else but you can always request it as an inter-library loan like I did. I highly recommend it to anyone researching the Mobbs Family.

      Best Wishes,

      Rachel
